What is a hosting? When do you need one?
Hosting account is your site’s “house” on the internet. This is where your site’s data are stored. Basically, all your site’s files are stored in a data center of the hosting provider. It is like you are renting a part of their server.
If you want a self-hosted site or blog, you need to register to a hosting account. What is a self-hosted? The technical definition is so broad so I will define it according to my terms. This just means you will take care of your own site data. This is without the .wordpress.org or .blogger.com extension.
Your hosting service plays a role in the success of your site or blog. Hosting service should be able to provide fast loading speed because search engines penalize sites that are slow.
Another critical criteria for me is the customer support. The level, efficiency and effectiveness of customer support are more important when choosing a hosting service more than when you choose a domain registrant. If your site is down, you need 24/7 support to troubleshoot and bring your site working again.
Pot and Palette is hosted in Siteground. Somehow I have tested their customer support and so far, I am happy with them. I have encountered that white-screen-of-death otherwise known as coding-error. Siteground’s customer support helped me sort it out.
Pricing is a great deal too when choosing your hosting service. Compare the total package, year-on-year and not just the first year package. Among the features that you have to watch out for are the number of domains and sub-domains allowed, number of emails, and security features.

Step 2. Choosing Domain

Step 3. Review and Complete
Advertised discount applies to any of the initial periods chosen during the sign up process. This means that whether you choose monthly or yearly payment, discount will always apply.
Siteground so far has provided me with great service. I have not been disappointed with how they answer my queries nor attend to my needs.
The support is always 24/7. This is one BIG reason why I am not switching to other hosting services because the support system is definitely a crucial factor to consider when you are running a site or blog. Siteground has the best support system which makes them a good partner in running a site.
